This Candy Bar Cake is a kid’s dream come true and the ultimate cake for all of the chocolate lovers out there. This is a very festive and exciting birthday cake!
A 5-Star Rated Chocolate Cake Recipe with a rich chocolate cake with a tender, moist crumb and is topped with a sweet chocolate buttercream made with butter, cocoa powder and cream. If that isn’t enough, I decided to take it up a notch and add my favorite chocolate candy bars.
Once the cake is frosted, decorate it with a variety of candy bars making sure to do it right away as the frosting acts like a glue once it sits. Kit Kat, Crunch Bars, or even full-size candy bars that stand up on the cake are interesting ways to add dimension to the cake. This candy bar cake is seriously the most chocolate in one dessert I’ve ever seen… and I love it!!

To make the cake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare three (8 inch) cake pans by spraying with non-stick spray and line the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingred̾i̾ents until combined.
In the bowl of a stand mixer with a whisk attachment, mix together the eggs, oil, and sugar until well incorporated. Place your mixer on a slow speed, carefully add water, vanilla and yogurt then mix together.
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingred̾i̾ents and stir until combined.
Pour the cake batter evenly into the three cake pans. Place on the middle shelf in your oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
After you place a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean, remove the cake from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes. Then allow the cakes to cool completely.
To make the frosting:
Whisk together your room temperature butter and cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment until it is light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla, salt, powdered sugar and cocoa powder and mix well until combined and smooth.
Add enough cream to make the frosting your desired consistency.
To αssemble the cake:
Place one of the cakes on a cake stand, top with a layer of frosting, and smooth it out into one even layer. Repeat with the second layer of cake. Place the third layer of cake on top and use the remaining frosting to frost the top and sides of the cake.
Top with your favorite chocolate candy bars: Kit Kat, Crunch Bar, Snickers… This is my favorite part! Be creative!
Place in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
